CSE Cyber Security is a four-year under-graduate programme started in the year 2020, with an intake of 64. The intent of the programme is to offer expertise in managing and keeping up the system structure and security. This programme is useful to become skilled at how to actively monitor and defend the network, utilize cyber security measures to protect the data and information. In addition, this programme will help to train students to scale up the demand from multiple industrial areas on the cyber world to endorse effective methods practices and tools to counter the cybercrime. Most of our data today is stored on servers and clouds across the globe. So, applications of cyber security in day-to-day life have caused a sudden increase of careers in cyber security. Cyberspace is a limitless stretch so the attack can occur in any area. Cyber security is the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, computers, and data from attack, damage, and unauthorized access.

  • To build the proficient skills necessary to pursue a career in Cyber Security through lab activities and new advanced tools.
  • Practice with a proficiency in academics to plan and execute security solutions.

Dr. Shameena Begum with over 16 years of teaching experience was awarded Ph.D degree in Computer Science from GITAM, Visakhapatnam, India in the year 2018 for her work in the field of Network Security. She is an experienced Computer Science Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Research, E- Learning, Publication Writing, Teaching, and Higher Education. She is involved in teaching various subjects in the field of Computer Science & Engineering and guiding Undergraduates and Postgraduates in the domain of Computer Science & Engineering. She has a credit of 11 research publications in National and International Journals of repute. She attended several Faculty Development Programmes, Seminars, Workshops, and completed several online courses to impart her expertise and knowledge to every student.

Vision

    To carry out extensive awareness on the dangers of the internet and train the students to restrict and debilitate the disgracefully spreading cyber threats from various directions and dimensions through the involvement in detecting, analysing and preventing cyber threats or attacks to protect national cyber infrastructure.

Mission

  • To introduce the students to cyber security, malware, cyber forensics and social engineering concepts.
  • To bring real-world experience through technologies, workshops, training to protect critical infrastructure.
  • To build competencies to inhibit and react to cyber threats to minimize loss from cyber instances and prepare the students for careers in cyber security and technical industry.

PEO 1: Develop a deep understanding of cyber security principles, including data protection, infrastructure security, malware analysis, and social engineering techniques.
PEO 2: Gain practical skills through hands-on experience and exposure to real-world technologies, workshops, and training sessions in safeguarding critical infrastructure.
PEO 3: Cultivate analytical and problem-solving abilities necessary for detecting, analyzing, and preventing cyber threats or attacks.
PEO 4: Acquire technical proficiency, effective communication abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset essential for providing cyber security solutions and services.
PEO 5: Prepare graduates for leadership roles in the cyber security industry by architecting secure enterprise IT frameworks, ensuring cloud-based security, and mitigating cyber threats.
